Don't be fooled into voting

for Issue 2..... 

Some people like President Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, have made the statement, “You never let a serious CRISIS go to waste”.  Politicians from both parties have accused each other of using FEAR as an agent of change.  Fear is a way to encourage people to change a law, add or increase a tax, add regulations, limit our rights and take away our freedoms.

In this case the CRISIS is legislation that was passed by residents in California last year

which gives farmers until January 1, 2015 to phase out previous practices of livestock confinement to other methods deemed more humane by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).  Many are concerned that this is a financially devastating blow to California’s struggling farmers and it will prove to be.

The Ohio Farm Bureau proposed Issue 2 in an effort to prevent this action by HSUS in Ohio. SJR-6 also known as Issue 2 will (if passed) create a 13-member Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board as part of an amendment to the state’s constitution.  Members of this board would NOT be elected by the people, they would be appointed.  Voters will have NO VOICE in representation.  The board would include “a broad base of livestock care experts including family farmers, veterinarians, a food safety expert, a representative of the local humane society members from the statewide farm organizations, the Dean of the College of Agriculture and members representing Ohio Consumers”, according to the Web site of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, which pushed the measure through - QUICKLY.  This board would provide oversight on how farm animals are raised.

Many people who will be voting Issue 2 (SJR-6) DO NOT KNOW the following:

1. The Ohio Senate voted to allow a referendum (SJR-6) Issue 2 to be put on the November ballot with specific language to grant to the board “exclusive authority to establish standards governing the care and well-being of livestock in this state”. The term “exclusive” is necessary so that no competing authority can overrule the board’s authority.
2. When SJR-6 went to the House it was changed!  The word “exclusive” was stricken from the resolution so that it now allows for other authorities, such as other Constitutional amendments, to overrule the Standards Board.  The HSUS can pass a ballot initiative that will overrule SJR-6, and they intend to do so!
3. Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society of the United States has stated that they will continue with their plans to place a ballot initiative to stop certain farming practices on next year’s ballot whether Issue 2 passes or fails. 

Passage of Issue 2 will NOT stop HSUS in their efforts dictate to farmers and animal owners their version of proper animal care methods. There is no purpose for this unelected Board if it no longer has “exclusive authority”.  There are already many laws on the books that farmers as well as all business owners must comply with.  Another board for the industry to be accountable to would add to costs, duplication and red tape.  Rights and freedoms will be lost, additional costs will be imposed on the industry and nothing will be gained.  VOTE NO on Issue 2 as it will not benefit Ohio and it will increase costs for everyone.

As your letter states, even if Issue 2 is passed, it will not stop the Humane Society of the United States from initiating legislation harmfull to farmers. Issue 2 will not protect anyone.....but will create unneccessary, costly controls over farmers and cattlemen.....governed by an appointed board, NOT elected, who are not answerable to the people. 

People who vote the wrong way out of fear are foolish, easily misled and help to bring on their own enslavement.

They obviously must not have any fight left in them and are not independent thinkers.

You might say that they are just not well informed.  I don't buy that! People need to stop taking erroneous and false information at face value and start seeking the TRUTH!  

Don't believe everything you hear!!  Find out for yourself!!  If something doesn't quite sound right to you, then it probably isn't.

I've said it before and I will keep repeating it:

Fear is NOT from GOD!  It is from the devil.  If you want the devil to keep ruling over your lives.......  Then stay in fear!

It is through fear that evil governments and corporations control people.
