Your Tax Dollars


In light of the recent expenditures by the Geauga County Ohio Park District the taxpayers of the county may not realize how much of their tax dollars are funding the Park District.

This important information was taken from the Geauga
CountyAuditor's Office's Citizens Financial Report.

For every tax dollar that you pay to the County 21.59 cents goes to these agencies:

This list will give percentages that I don't think you will be happy with friends!

Of that 21.59 cents here is the breakdown:



GEAUGA PARK DISTRICT 24% or 3.70 millage

MENTAL RETARDATION 22% or 3.30 millage

ROAD/BRIDGE 17% or 2.50 millage

GENERAL FUND 13% or 2.00 millage

MENTAL HEALTH 8% or 1.20 millage

SENIOR CITIZENS 7% or 1.00 millage

CHILDRENS SERVICES 5% or .70 millage

BOND RETIREMENT 3% or .50 millage

HEALTH DISTRICT 1% or .20 millage



So just take a look for yourselves at this report for year ending December 31, 2008.

Is this what we really want 19% more going to the Parks District instead of assistance for Critical services to our own children. Do we want 17% more going to the Geauga County Ohio Park District than to another critical service our Senior Citizens!

This is outrageous and must be stopped. This Park District knows no limits to their hypocrisy.

On who's Watch is this all happening. Well, Judge Charles Henry appoints the Commissioners of the Park, John Leech and Mark Rzeszotarski and also Board President Robert McCullough. A Thomas Curtain is the Director and a Paige Hosier is their Marketing Director.

Let's say no to the Park District and it's spend, spend cronies as they continue to outspend major Critical services to our beloved County. The time has come when we need major Critical services with no cuts and not bird watchers!!

These facts are very enlightening. Since the Geauga Park District was created years ago, it has been like a very quite giant that most of us knew little about 

....quietly growing larger and larger while abusing people in their way! I believe they have become the largest land owner in Geauga....AT OUR EXPENSE!

 In fact, over the past year or so, as we have inspired more public attention to the GPD and shed more light upon them, many more people have become disgusted with them and the numbers are growing rapidly!

WE NEED TO PUT THE BRAKES ON THEM!!
