Tracy Jemison told a Section 8 resident that her housing entitlement will be protected by the Geauga County Commissioners because “the Commissioners will always look out for the common people…” He assured her that her Section 8 entitlement was safe.
Then, out of the other side of Jemisons' mouth, he told Joan Demirjian, Chagrin Valley Times reporter, “Geauga County Commissioners have no involvement in the Geauga Metropolitan Housing Authority, which is a Federal agency that provides apartments for qualifying low-income residents.” If Tracy Jemison has no involvement with the GMHA, how can he protect this woman’s Section 8 housing entitlement? He wasn’t lying to her, was he?
Tracy Jemison, Mary Samide and Bill Young WASTED more than $106,000 to improve the property of private citizens in 2010. They did this because they have no idea what they are doing when they vote on motions made randomly at Commissioners' meetings. The practice of using our tax dollars to improve the property of wealthy landowners ceased only AFTER WE EXPLAINED THAT COMMISSIONERS’ GIFTING OUR TAX DOLLARS TO WEALTHY PROPERTY OWNERS WAS AN ABUSE OF OUR TAX DOLLARS!
Habitat for Humanity is not privately funded. Habitat for Humanity is grant, i.e., tax-dollar funded. Tracy Jemison, candidate for Geauga County Commissioner, and Christine Buckley, paid executive for Habitat for Humanity, stated that Habitat for Humanity is a privately-funded non-profit and not paid for by the county funds.
However, if you check the Commissioners’ Journal for November 1, 2011, you will see that Tracy Jemison, Mary Samide, and Bill Young voted to approve an additional $20,000, totaling $40,000,“in connection with Habitat for Humanity for providing new construction assistance for property located in Middlefield, Ohio.” Mary Samide stated, “this money is CDBG grant money and people have to meet certain requirements to receive this and additional guidelines that have to be followed. This money does not come from the General Fund of Geauga County.”
I responded to Mary Samide several times, writing that she can call this money by any name… Call it CDBG money, Grant money, Issue 2 money, etc. No matter what she calls it, IT IS STILL OUR TAX DOLLARS BEING USED TO BUILD SUBSIDIZED HOUSING.
Mary Samide doesn't know that Obama Stimulus and Issue 2 grants are unconstitutional and that they have to be paid back with interest. By accepting these grants, we are surrendering our property rights and personal liberties. Mary Samide does not know the difference between grants, taxes, stimulus and the Saturday night double bingo jackpot.
THESE HOUSING PROJECTS ARE FUNDED WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS.
Casa Lucia, a $6,000,000 housing project, was most definitely supported by local tax dollars. This housing project will be tax-abated and I have not been able to confirm if the occupants will be contributing to support schools, infrastructure or safety, police, fire, Ems. As reported in the News Herald on February 1, 2011, “Casa Lucia apartments will be lower than market rates because of various tax credits.” Who approved these tax credits?
Geauga County Commissioners annexed the property for the Catholic Charities. It could not have happened without Tracy Jemison, Mary Samide and Bill Young. The Geauga County Commissioners' response to my public information request follows:
“The actions taken by this office [Geauga County Commissioners] related to the property owned by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland [Casa Lucia] has been approved by the Commissioners of a block grant award requested by Middlefield Village to construct a sidewalk along Route 87 that will facilitate access to Middlefield Village by area residents, and approval by the Commissioners of the annexation of property owned by the Diocese of Cleveland into the village to allow access to village infrastructure; this annexation was supported by both the Village and Middlefield Township.”
Tracy Jemison bragged about a growth study that supported subsidized housing in Geauga County. The News Herald article published on December 6, 2011 reported, “ Geauga County Commissioner Tracy Jemison said that he participated in an earlier study addressing the need [for public and subsidized housing] while he was county auditor.” He has been a proponent of subsidized housing for years.
The Catholic Charities Housing Corporation was indignant when I asked them to provide me with their funding sources. They have not done so to date. But I can assure you that they used tax dollars from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing, and the Ohio Department of Development. Where do you think these organizations get their money?
Geauga County residents pay a disproportionately high amount of tax dollars, and the State of Ohio is returning less and less to our community because they fully expect liberal local public officials like Tracy Jemison and Mary Samide to tax us to make up the difference.
I do not support Section 8 housing, Casa Lucia tax credits, Casa Lucia income-subsidized housing, generational metropolitan free housing, or the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes for private individuals using tax dollars.
I am glad, though, that Tracy Jemison and Mary Samide have finally told the community, yes, they fully support subsidized housing in Geauga County. And they are just getting started.

Very interesting Judy.
It seems Traci Jemison isn't much different from Mary Samide. Both claim to be conservative Republicans but in reality are liberal R.I.N.O.'s .
I am soooo sick and tired of politicians who lie to us and play word games. I wouldn't be surprised if Traci's buddy, Mary Samide, was his mentor in politics and trained him in her ways (gag). Birds of a feather flock together.
It is well known that on the Geauga Board of Commissioners, comprised of 2
men people of male gender and Mary Samide, that Mary wears the pants and is somewhat of a bully. In fact "bully" is the exact word that Matt Lynch, candidate for state rep. and many other positions, used to describe Mary when he was speaking to some people at a church in Geauga. He also recommended people not vote for her.
It is upsetting that Traci refers to others as "the common people". Does he think of himself as the benevolent King who is going to protect us? It is a RARE person who does NOT develope a "GOD like" or "King like" attitude after being in politics for awhile. Traci is NOT one of these rare people.
Traci Jemison, Mary Samide, and Bill Young were governing board members of NOACA, a highly liberal and Socialist agency that wants to impose more government control over our lives and take money from hard working people to pay for the ones who won't. This was discussed briefly in an earlier post.
Also in an earlier post, was the fact that the commissioners gave a mother and her children (no father), who couldn't afford to live in Geauga, $20,000.00 of your tax money after being given a home built by Habitat For Humanity, an organization whose statistics are not good. A large majority of these people given these homes cannot afford to keep them and end up losing them, costing the taxpayers even more money. This is one example of many.
When you work hard and save, to be able to afford better things and nicer homes, people will put much more effort and pride in taking care of these things and work hard to keep them. When they are just given to you without working for them, there is no pride and effort. Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority is a prime example. They give people brand new apartments to live in and within a year they are trashed.
Christine Buckley (Habitat for Humanity), Traci Jemison, Mary Samide, and Bill Young are all lying when they say these things are privately funded or your tax money is not paying for them. There is too much evidence to the contrary. They love to play word games with a public they think is ignorant and call the same thing by different names to confuse you.
Traci Jemison, Mary Samide, and Bill Young have not only wasted alot of taxpayer money but have also spent alot of it unconstitutionally.
The bottom line is:
If you want more of this to continue, then keep voting these Socialists and liars back into office.
Hopefully, with the big defeat of Mary Samide, the people are sending a signal they won't put up with this anymore.
The cleanup isn't over!
DO YOU HEAR THAT TRACI ?
P.S. I do not support government subsidised housing in Geauga or any other country area either.
