Years ago, unpasturized goat milk was given to premature newborn babies, in Swiss hospitals, to nourish and strengthen them. All of a sudden in the U.S., it was deemed dangerous by the government. Sounds like a licensing, money, and control issue to me.
More and more doctors are reporting on the effects of raw milk verses pasteurized, and findings continue to show that pasteurized products have more health risk. A 16 year study about the healing effects of raw milk published in 1929 that praises raw milk. A recent study done by Harvard and released earlier this year is showing that pasteurized milk is not safe. Governments are saying something different.
So who are you supposed believe?
John F. Sheehan Director of Plant and Dairy Food Safety at the US Food and Drug Administration's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition stated that:
"Raw milk is inherently dangerous and should not be consumed. Raw milk continues to be a source of food-borne illness and even a cause of death within the United States. Despite the claims of raw milk advocates, raw milk is not a magical elixir possessing miraculous curative properties. Pasteurization destroys pathogens and most other vegetative microbes which might be expected and have been shown to be present in milk. Pasteurization does not appreciably alter the nutritive value of milk."
Throughout USA, for nearly 40 years, millions of people drank over 3 billion glasses of Alta Dena Dairy’s raw milk and there was not one epidemic, and not one proved case of food borne illness because of it. In 1999, Dean Foods Company acquired Alta Dena,
Dr. J. R. Crewe, of the Mayo Foundation, forerunner of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, published in Certified Milk Magazine, January 1929, The "Milk Cure". It was based on a treatment using a combination of detoxifying fast and nutrient-dense feeding.
For more than 16 years I have conducted a small sanitarium where milk is used almost exclusively in the treatment of various diseases. The results have been so regularly satisfactory that I have naturally become enthusiastic and interested in this method of treating disease. We used good Guernsey milk, equal to 700 calories to the quart.
The milk used was, in all cases, the only kind of milk available in those days—raw milk from pasture-fed cows, rich in butterfat. Interestingly, diseases that have no similarity respond equally to this treatment. For instance, psoriasis clears up beautifully. The improvement in tuberculosis or nephritis is equally interesting but there is no similarity in these diseases. I once heard a very distinguished medical man discussing a case of psoriasis. He said, "This was the worst case of psoriasis I have ever seen. This boy was literally covered from head to foot with scales. We put this boy on a milk diet and in less than a month he had a skin like a baby's." To me, this means that there was evidently some nutritive substance or vitamin or glandular secretion lacking, that was furnished by the milk.
Armchair Science, London published in April 1938 "Raw Milk Vs. Pasteurized Milk" and raw milk triumphed. Figures published regarding the spread of tuberculosis by milk show, among other facts, that over a period of five years, during which time 70 children belonging to a special organization received a pint of raw milk daily. One case only of the disease occurred. During a similar period when pasteurized milk had been given, 14 cases were reported.
Besides destroying part of the vitamin C contained in raw milk and encouraging growth of harmful bacteria, pasteurization turns the sugar of milk, known as lactose, into beta-lactose which is far more soluble and therefore more rapidly absorbed in the system, with the result that the child soon becomes hungry again. Probably pasteurization's worst offense is that it makes insoluble the major part of the calcium contained in raw milk. This frequently leads to rickets, bad teeth, and nervous troubles, for sufficient calcium content is vital to children; and with the loss of phosphorus also associated with calcium, bone and brain formation suffer serious setbacks.
In 2001, Dr. William Campbell Douglass, M.D., author of the definitive analysis of scientific and clinical study on milk, The Milk Book; and the proponent and leading present-day empirical scientist on the positive effects of natural milk products on humans, and Dr. Aajonus Vonderplanitz, Ph.D. Nutrition, Nutritional Scientist and author of We Want To Live, Vol.1 Out of the Grips of Disease and Death, and Vol.2, Healthfully, the Facts, and The Recipe For Living Without Disease, compiled and condensed a report for the each Los Angeles County Board Supervisors on raw milk. Their findings were that raw milk is safe!
So by this point you have to be wondering where pasteurization even comes from. The idea came from a man who had an invention that he wanted to sell, and he came up with a brilliant idea to make that happen. Franz Ritter von Soxhlet (January 12, 1848 – May 5, 1926) was a German agricultural chemist from Brno. He invented the Soxhlet extractor in 1879 and in 1886 he proposed pasteurization be applied to milk and other beverages.
Between 1924 and 1982, FDA accumulated so called evidence of the association of certified raw milk with human disease and in 1982 began drafting a proposed regulation to ban all interstate sales of raw milk, and raw milk products. This evidence contradicts the findings of Dr. J. R. Crewe at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester in 1929. Great efforts were taken to remove all of Dr. Crewe's history, and scientific data on his success with raw milk treating people of with various diseases. One piece of work managed to be saved, and is the only evidence that can be found about a man who had made a great discovery, that for whatever reason he has been expunged from records.
Monsanto is teaming up with AFACT, American Farmers for the Advancement and Conservation of Technology, which is led by several dairy farmers. AFACT also shares the same public relations firm as Monsanto. They want to make it illegal to label food, a Kansas City Star reporter says, “as having a compositional claim that cannot be confirmed through laboratory analysis or to state a compositional or production-related claim that is supported solely by sworn statements, affidavits, or testimonials.”
Jeffrey M. Smith international best selling author, and an expert on genetically modified foods. Exposing Monsanto's bovine growth hormone, and believes that is there are major health risk. Dairy products from cows treated with Monsanto's genetically engineered bovine growth hormone (rBGH or rBST) may sharply increase cancer risk and other diseases, especially in children. Already banned in most industrialized nations, it was approved in the US on the backs of fired whistleblowers, manipulated research, and a corporate takeover at the FDA.
In April of 2010 the FDA stepped up efforts to enforce regulation [21 CFR 1240.61(a)] issued by FDA in response to a 1988 court order provides, in part, that "no person shall cause to be delivered into interstate commerce or shall sell, otherwise distribute, or hold for sale or other distribution after shipment in interstate commerce any milk or milk product in final package form for direct human consumption unless the product has been pasteurized." Alex Jones of "Infowars" in Aug. of 2011 reported on the raw food market raids in L.A. and the conspiracy behind raw products, and organic food.
There have been physicians, and studies that continue to furnish reports, and evidence that raw milk is healthy, and pressure is being applied just like the wars of the world, to kill everything on this planet that is natural. Natural health physician and nutritionist Dr. Richard Gerhauser, in 2011 shares information on the research, and results on how people can benefit from the addition of raw milk into their diet.
The truth has once again shaken the foundation of the 'American Tower of Babel' that is mainstream science, with a new study out of Harvard University showing that pasteurized milk product from factory farms is linked to causing hormone-dependent cancers. It turns out that the concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO) model of raising cows on factory farms churns out milk with dangerously high levels of estrone sulfate, an estrogen compound linked to testicular, prostate, and breast cancers in a Feb. 2012 report by Natural News.
Many have been led to believe that there is so much fraud and bribery by big corporations within the FDA, that the only way to solve the problem would be to clean the house out, and start with a clean slate. Is Monsanto money changing decisions amongst FDA officials? It seem most politicians can be swayed with a dollar these days, no matter what position they hold. Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labeling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. Not coincidentally, Monsanto supplies 90 percent of the GE seeds used by the US market. Monsanto's long arm stretched so far that, in the early nineties, the US Food and Drugs Agency even ignored warnings of their own scientists, who were cautioning that GE crops could cause negative health effects. Other tactics the company uses to stifle concerns about their products include misleading advertising, bribery and concealing scientific evidence. "The World According To Monsanto"
Ron Paul, one of the few politicians yet, who has not sold his integrity, or changed his message of freedom for that which is built solely on greed. Transparency is happening on every level.
